The Champions League returns: matches, schedules and when the Round of 16 will be played

After a three month break, the pedigree European football club competition returns with the Round of 16.

The UEFA Champions League is back. After a three month break to allow time for the 2022 World Cup to be staged, the 2022/23 tournament reaches the Round of 16 stage as sixteen sides eye a place in the June final in Istanbul. Real Madrid are the reigning champions with Los Blancos looking for a fifteenth European triumph.

The action gets underway on 14 February as Milan face Tottenham and PSG-Bayern opening the return to activity. The first let games will be played over a two week period with two games per night on 14/15 February with four games also being played the following Tuesday and Wednesday (21/22 February).

The return legs will commence on 7 March and conclude on 15 March with the draws for the quarter-final and semi-final sages set to be held in UEFA’s Nyon HQ on Friday 17 March.
