Messi spoke after Inter Miami’s first training session at Nu Stadium ahead of their MLS debut against Austin FC on Saturday.

Inter Miami will debut in its new home, aptly named Nu Stadium, against Austin FC in MLS on Saturday. Two and a half years after ground was broken on the site, Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami teammates stepped out to train on the field for the first time on Thursday.
Messi’s first impressions of Nu Stadium
What were Messi’s first impressions of the $350 million venue, which has a capacity of 26,700? The Argentina captain gave the Inter Miami media team his verdict and two thumbs up.
Messi will be in the extremely rare position of playing in a stadium with a stand named after him. In recognition of the former Barcelona star’s impact at the club since joining in July 2023, helping them win the first three trophies in their history and becoming their record goal scorer, Miami have named one stand the Leo Messi Stand.
