CONCACAF NATIONS LEAGUE
The USMNT’s 23-man roster for the Final Four of the Concacaf Nations League
New interim coach BJ Callaghan whittled his roster down from Anthony Hudson’s 60-man preliminary squad for the Concacaf Final Four semi-final against Mexico.
The Conacaf Nations League Final Four is just around the corner, with the USMNT set to face off against bitter rivals Mexico (who have made changes to their roster) for the right to take on either Panama or Canana in the final. After previous interim boss Anthony Hudson had named a 60-man preliminary roster for the tournament, it was up to his replacement BJ Callaghan to whittle that number down to just 23.
Balogun ready for USMNT debut
One of the most notable inclusions on Hudson’s preliminary list was Folarin Balogun, who recently declared, after a long time keeping people on edge, that he would play for the US, his birthplace, over England, where he grew up.
Alex Zendejas’ name also appeared on the original list after he was left out of the last call-up with a nose injury. Both players have made the cut as Callaghan gets set to take charge of the United States for the first time.
