USA vs Wales preview
The game between USA and Wales will complete the first round of fixtures in Group B, where England are the clear favorites to grab the first spot, although Iran are considered one of the dark horses of the tournament.
The USMNT are back at the World Cup finals after missing the 2018 tournament in Russia following a defeat in Trinidad & Tobago in their final qualifier.
The Americans, who recently lost to Japan and tied with Saudi Arabia, have reached the knockout round in four of their last seven tournament appearances, but they haven’t beaten European opposition in their previous nine attempts.
Meanwhile, Wales are not in the best form either, as they haven’t been victorious since qualifying for the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Ukraine in the playoffs.
Welsh fans will be hopeful that their main player, Gareth Bale, can perform at his highest level after being decisive in the playoffs, scoring twice against Austria in the semi-final, and claiming the assist for Andriy Yarmolenko’s own goal in the final.
The Dragons made it through the group stage at their two recent major tournament appearances at Euro 2016 and 2020, and the former Real Madrid player will be aiming to lead the team to another good result in Qatar.

Matt Turner is likelier to start in goal than Ethan Horvath, as he played in both September friendlies.
