The Premier League side are negotiating with RB Leipzig to strike a deal to sign the United States international and a potential reunion with coach Jesse Marsch.

Tyler Adams is ready for a new challenge and he is set to be reunited with coach Jesse Marsch with Leeds United. The United States international was not a regular starter last season with RB Leipzig under new manager Domenico Tedesco and he is in search of more playing time with the FIFA World Cup right around the corner.

Leeds United reached an agreement on Monday with the Bundesliga side for a £20 million fee to sign Tyler Adams. The deal will include add-ons and the MLS side New York Red Bulls will receive third-three percent of any transfer fee as part of a sell-on clause that was negotiated when Adams joined RB Leipzig in 2019.

Marsch eager to reunite with Adams

Leeds United wanted to reinforce their midfield after they sold Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City and head coach Jesse Marsch targeted Tyler Adams as his replacement. The deal will become official once the United States international passes his medical examination and signs his new deal.

Tyler Adams has excelled as a central or defensive midfielder and he will also reunite with USMNT teammate Brenden Aaronson, who signed with Leeds United last month. The 23-year-old is the third signing that Jesse Marsch has previously coached in the past alongside Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.
