Update:
The USWNT, who crashed out of the World Cup in the knockout rounds, have announced a pair of friendlies against Colombia, who made the semi-finals.

The USWNT, off the back of their Women’s World Cup disappointment, have announced a pair of friendlies against Colombia, scheduled for October.

The team, led by Vlatko Andonovski, cruised through the group stages with a draw against the Netherlands followed by a couple of wins over Vietnam and Portugal. However, they faced Sweden in the Round of 16 and failed to get past the side after 120 minutes, ultimately losing on penalties.

Led by Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe and Lindsey Horan, the USWNT were looking to achieve their third consecutive World Cup title, having taken home the trophy in 2015 and 2019. However, Andonovski brought with him 14 new players who had never previously played at the showpiece event, and despite the promise of a high ceiling for the future of the squad, they failed to produce.

Where will USWNT play their games against Colombia?

The USWNT will play their first of two friendlies on October 26 in Sandy, Utah at America First Field, home of both Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake and National Women’s Soccer League club Utah Royals FC.

The second game, which takes place 3 days later, on October 29, will be played in San Diego, California at Snapdragon Stadium.

Colombia had a World Cup to remember, beating South Korea and Germany before losing to Morocco in the group stages. They then faced Jamaica in the Round of 16, where they won 1-0 before losing to eventual finalists England in the quarter-finals.
