The United States and Haiti will face off in the opening game of the 2022 Concacaf W Championship in Monterrey at the Estadio Universitario.
USA vs Haiti is the curtain raiser on 4 July as the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship gets underway in Mexico. This will be the 11th edition of the W Championship with eights sides involved in the competition that runs from 4 to 18 July 2022 in the Mexican cities of San Nicolas de los Garza and Guadalupe in the Monterrey region.
The USWNT and Haiti have faced each other three times in CWC competition, in 1991, 2010 and 2014 with the USWNT dominant in meetings with three wins from three with Haiti yet to score against the North American side.
The four-times World Cup winners are out for revenge after a disappointing bronze finish at last year’s Tokyo Games, with pride on the line for the perennial favourites.
Last month the U.S. selected a mix of veteran talent - including 2019 Ballon d’Or winner Megan Rapinoe, forward Alex Morgan and captain Becky Sauerbrunn - and relative newcomers, like National Women’s Soccer League Rookie of the Year Trinity Rodman, to their squad.
