Watch: De Paul and Suárez score Salt Lake stunners as Inter Miami beat RSL
Rodrigo de Paul and Luis Suárez hit spectacular goals, as Guillermo Hoyos’s Herons took all three points in Utah.

In the ninth round of the MLS regular season season on Wednesday, Inter Miami earned a 2-0 road victory over Real Salt Lake, making it two wins from two under interim head coach Guillermo Hoyos.
In the wake of Javier Mascherano’s sudden exit as Miami boss, calm has returned under the guidance of Hoyos. Playing a measured, patient brand of soccer, the Herons walked into America First Field and walked out with all three points.
How Inter Miami’s win over RSL unfolded:
The opening stretches belonged to the home team. On two occasions, RSL side rattled the goal defended by Dayne St. Clair. One of those chances even found the back of the net, but the goal was waved off for offside.
As the minutes ticked by, Inter Miami began to settle into the match. Possession shifted to pink, and with it, the most dangerous chances now arrived at RSL’s goal.
The breakthrough, however, had to wait until the second half. With the visitors turning to their bench and reshuffling pieces, the hosts dropped deeper, looking to strike on the counter through the pace and creativity of Diego Luna.
The match finally cracked open in the 82nd minute. Rodrigo de Paul collected the ball in the attacking third and unleashed a stunning shot into the upper corner, giving the Herons the lead in a stadium that could only rise to applaud the brilliance of the 2022 World Cup champion:

Just one minute later, Luis Suárez put the match to bed with another spectacular finish. The Uruguayan combined with Germán Berterame before smashing a first‑time volley into the top corner to make it two for Miami:

Where are Miami in the MLS standings?
The win moves Inter Miami to within a single point of Nashville atop the Eastern Conference, as the Herons climbed to 18 points. RSL, meanwhile, remain stuck in sixth place in the Western Conference.
