Juventus are willing to part ways with Weston McKennie during the summer transfer window if the right offer is presented. It was also reported that the Old Lady tried to include the United States international in the negotiations to sign Roma’s Nicolo Zaniola, but the Capital-based club rejected the offer.

Even though McKennie has been linked to several clubs, the manager of Juventus, Massimiliano Allegri, is very happy with the 23-year-old. The USMNT midfielder gained the trust of the Italian manager and he was a regular starter across all competitions for Juventus last campaign.

Allegri on McKennie’s future

Juventus have been very active during the transfer window and signed Paul Pogba and Angel Di María and more players are expected to arrive. Before the Serie A side travels to the United States for their preseason, Allegri gave a virtual press conference and talked about the future of the American.

For us it is a great pleasure and great honor to take part in the Soccer Champions Tour because they are very important matches for the pre-season and we will play against great clubs,” said Allegri during Tuesday’s press conference.

As for McKennie, he is a Juventus player that is very important. Unfortunately, last year he missed games due to an injury he suffered in the Champions League but he will travel with us to the US tour. McKennie will have the opportunity to play a great season at Juventus this year,” added Allegri.

Juventus will start their pre-season in the United States against Liga MX side Chivas on 22 July at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Five days later they will play against FC Barcelona at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, before concluding their US tour at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena against Real Madrid on 30 July.
