What’s up next for Messi and Inter Miami?
The Herons played their first pre-season friendly game against Club America as they get ready for a busy 2025 campaign.

This Saturday, Inter Miami faced Club América at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The first pre-season test of the new year ended 2-2 in regular time with the MLS side prevailing in a shoot-out. Javier Mascherano’s team side were impressive in flashes and now set their sights on the second preseason game.
The Florida outfit now pack their bags and head for Peru as they face Club Universitario de Deportes (as part of the ‘Americas Pre Season Tour’), one of the most decorated and popular sides in the country with the men from Lima also current Liga 1 champions.
The game in the Peruvian capital against Los Cremas will go ahead on Wednesday, January 29 at the Monumental Stadium in Lima.

Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and company will be looking for the second game as another opportunity to prepare for the MLS season which commences next month. The side from Florida will also be involved in the CONCACAF Champions Cup and FIFA’s new expanded Club World Cup.
Coming up for Inter Miami
After their trip to Peru, Inter Miami will travel to Panama to face Sporting San Miguelito at the Estadio Rommel Fernández (Sunday, February 2), then they will travel to Honduras to play against CD Olimpia at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano (Saturday, February 8) and will close their preparation against Orlando City at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa (Friday, February 14). Inter Miami will begin their season on Tuesday, February 18 as they face Sporting KC in the CONCACAF tournament.
The ‘Herons’ start their MLS 2025 campaign with games against New York City FC and Houston Dynamo and will hoping to make amends after last season’s trophy drought.
