Szczesny won’t be involved until after the October international break, though; as the Pole builds up his match fitness, Iñaki Peña will continue to deputise for Ter Stegen.
Meanwhile, Alavés sit in mid-table in LaLiga, but host the leaders on a run of two straight Spanish top-flight defeats. Most recently, Luis García Plaza’s men were beaten 2-0 by Getafe.
