Haji Wright made his international debut with the United States and scored his first goal in a 3-0 friendly victory over Morocco on 1 June. The 24-year-old had a breakout campaign last season with Turkish side Antalyaspor, on loan from Danish club SønderjyskE Fodbold, and scored 14 goals in 31 appearances.

Several teams interested in Wright

The USMNT striker has been targeted by two teams during the summer transfer window. According to various reports, Turkish Super Lig winners Trabzonspor are looking to reinforce a Champions League group stage campaign and felt Wright would help them improve their attacking options.

The other team that is interested in signing the United States international is Serie A side Spezia. Wright is ready to play in a more competitive team as he seeks to force his way onto the final roster that will travel to Qatar in November for the 2022 World Cup.

Wright is now on the verge of accepting Spezia’s offer and the striker is expected to join the Serie A side ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, which will be the Little Eagles’ third consecutive appearance in Italy’s top tier.
