Roger Martínez is reportedly considering leaving Club América on a free transfer at the end of the Liga MX Clausura 2023 tournament, as the Colombian struggles to secure regular game time at the 13-time Mexican champions.

Out-of-contract Martínez wants more minutes

Martínez, who has been at América since joining from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning in 2018, is out of contract in June.

The media outlet TUDN has reported that the 28-year-old winger is unhappy at his current lack of first-team action and is ready to leave in search of a more central role.

Capped 25 times by Colombia, Martínez has been restricted to just one start in the Clausura 2023, featuring for a total of only 144 minutes.

Liga MX winner with América

In his time at América, he has scored 35 goals and supplied 17 assists in 156 appearances, helping Las Águilas to three trophy triumphs: the Liga MX Apertura 2018, the Copa MX Clausura 2019, and the 2019 Campeón de Campeones.
