Qatar and Switzerland played out a 1-1 draw to complete the first round of matches in Group B on Saturday. The Swiss were on course for a victory that would have placed them top of the group but were denied three points when Miro Muheim turned the ball into his own net four minutes into stoppage-time.

On Friday, co-hosts Canada were in action on Friday and had to come from behind to snatch a point in their opener against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The results leave all four teams in Group B exactly where they started - level pegging going into the second round of matches. All four have one point each and the same goal difference in the most open, evenly-balanced group in the tournament.

On paper, Switzerland, who are ranked 19th, are fancied to beat Bosnia-Herzegovina although both have struggled in front of goal so we could easily see another closely-fought game.

Dark horses Qatar, under Julen Lopetegui, are presented with a real chance to turn Group B on its head when they face Canada in Vancouver. While Jesse Marsch‘s team have the advantage of playing in front of a home crowd, they are under more pressure to win. A defeat could spell disaster - especially as they face Switzerland, the toughest rivals in the final game.
