Tony Popovic has named his squad ahead of the FIFA tournament, with United States, Türkiye and Paraguay in the same group.

Group D USMNT rival Australia names 2026 World Cup roster: these are the 26 Socceroos players

Australia has officially named the 26 players that will head to North America for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving USMNT fans a clearer picture of one of the teams standing between the United States and a place in the knockout rounds.
Who is in the Australia World Cup roster?
The Socceroos, coached by Tony Popovic, landed in Group D alongside the United States, Türkiye and Paraguay. Their showdown with the USMNT is scheduled for June 19 in Seattle and could prove decisive in determining which teams advance.
Popovic’s squad blends experience and youth. Seventeen players are heading to their first World Cup, while veteran goalkeeper Mat Ryan and winger Mathew Leckie have been selected for a fourth tournament, equaling an Australian record. There are also two uncapped players in the squad, Cristian Volpato and Tete Yengi, who could make their international debuts on the sport’s biggest stage.
Five players currently based in Australia’s domestic A-League made the final cut, while many of the squad’s biggest names ply their trade across Europe.
