Huge blow for Raúl Jiménez days before the 2026 World Cup
Fulham announced it will not renew the Mexican striker, who scored 31 goals in 115 appearances for the club.

Bad news for Raúl Jiménez just days ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Fulham announced that the Mexican stricker will depart the club after not being offered a contract extension. This closes the chapter on Raúl’s time with the Cottagers, the club he called home for the last two years.
In a brief statement, Fulham released its roster of departing players ahead of next season, with Jiménez among the names. The Mexican striker’s contract expires on June 30, meaning he will now enter free agency to find a new club to continue his career.

“We would like to thank every player for their service and efforts during their time at Fulham, and wish them the best of luck during the next chapters of their career,” the club statement read.

Raúl Jiménez’s time at Fulham
Jiménez found a second opportunity in the Premier League with Fulham. Following a highly successful run with Wolverhampton, Jiménez signed with the London-based club in 2024, where he recaptured his form after recovering from a severe skull fracture suffered in 2020.
While Jiménez grew into a key piece for Fulham, he was no longer an undisputed starter this past season, cracking the starting XI in 31 of his 43 appearances. In total, Raúl made 115 appearances for the Cottagers, netting 31 goals and tallying six assists.
What’s next for Jiménez?
Reports out of Wolverhampton recently indicated that Wolves are looking to bring Jiménez back. Despite the club’s relegation to the Championship, they haven’t ruled out the possibility of Jiménez accepting the challenge, and initial contact has reportedly already been made with the player’s camp.
Another potential landing spot could be Liga MX. Club América has pursued him over the last few transfer windows, and with his time at Fulham officially coming to an end, the timing might finally be right for the Mexican forward’s homecoming. For now, however, his immediate focus remains entirely on the 2026 World Cup with the Mexican National Team.
