Mexico drop elegant new third kit as 2026 World Cup looms closer
The new jersey has already caused quite a sensation on social media with positive reaction for the shirt.

As we enter the final stretch before the 2026 World Cup kicks off next month, Adidas have unveiled the new third kit for the Mexico national team.
Under the concept ‘The Mexican Wa(y)ve’, the new shirt features an elegant, dark tonal ‘MX’ pattern. The black jersey incorporates the message ‘Somos México’ on the collar as a call for unity with the traditional Adidas stripes on the sleeves featuring the signature red, white and green of the Mexican flag.

The shirt stands as a symbol of national identity, paying tribute to the Central American nation as being the only country in history to have hosted three World Cups, marking a milestone in international football.
“This new shirt represents much more than innovation in design; it is a manifestation of the Mexican spirit in every thread. We wanted to pay tribute to a nation that will welcome the world for the third time,” said Pablo Cavallaro, Senior Director, Brand Activation at Adidas Mexico.
Someone Somewhere fashion launch
To compliment the launch of the third kit, Adidas have also released a complementary collection in collaboration with Someone Somewhere from Adidas Originals.
Someone Somewhere is a prominent Mexican social enterprise and fashion brand that bridges the gap between traditional indigenous craftsmanship and modern, functional design.
🇲🇽 Alongside their new black 2026 WC third kit, Mexico and adidas also launched a special-edition jersey paying tribute to local artisans.

The brand’s primary goal is to alleviate poverty in Mexico by providing consistent, fair-wage work to artisans who would otherwise struggle to find a market for their skills.
The range features six pieces with details crafted by female artisans from the community of Naupan, in the Sierra Norte region of Puebla, as well as a special edition jersey (Artisan JSY) that reinterprets the third kit design with a lifestyle twist, incorporating a polo-style collar and embroidered details. The collection aims to take Mexican pride beyond the pitch, connecting sport with culture and craftsmanship.
The new Mexico kit and Someone Somewhere items are now available via Adidas worldwide.
