The United States will host its second World Cup in history in 2026, in a sport that has grown impressively so far this century after being ignored for decades. Now, soccer’s biggest party will reach a large part of the country, and the question of whether it is bigger than a Super Bowl keeps running through the minds of some Americans, including President Donald Trump.

Which is bigger: World Cup or Super Bowl?

In response, Ricardo Pepi, one of the USMNT players who has become an idol, said there is no comparison between a World Cup and a Super Bowl except maybe the halftime show – describing the event in which he will take part as the biggest of all.

“I don’t think you can even compare it, to be honest. I feel like it’s one of the most important. It’s the biggest because of the sporting competition involved, so you can’t compare it to a Super Bowl or the NBA Finals. To be honest, it surpasses them by far, even for Americans,” Pepi said in an interview with ESPN.

Keeping the World Cup great

For the United States international, the tournament, which will be held from June 11 to July 19, will be one of the biggest ever, especially because three countries will be hosting it.

“Yes, I think it’s going to be one of the biggest, without a doubt. Because of how it’s organized, with those three countries, I think it’s super important and I think it’s going to be great, to be honest,” he said.
