Zinedine Zidane’s future is a place where the path to reach it is not quite clear. After the renewal of Deschamps with the French team until 2026, the man from Marseille is considering four possible alternatives. According to RMC Sport, the four teams are PSG, Bayern, Juventus and Real Madrid, although the latter option is very unlikely.

Regarding the Parisians, negotiations intensified in the month of June. Both Qatar and Al Khelaïfi, unlike Luis Campos, who always advocated signing Galtier, communicated to Zidane their desire for him to take the reins.

Zidane’s France dream is over for now

After a long and extended period of reflection, Zizou finally rejected the offer, choosing to prioritise the French National Team. However, after the contract extension given to Deschamps, that option is ruled out. What is most definitely not off the table is the PSG job if there is a disaster in the Champions League, which would no doubt put Galtier under the microscope.

Another alternative is Juventus. The Old Lady are currently struggling and have recently been hit with a huge 15 point deduction to to financial reasons. However, Zidane cherishes his successful career as a footballer in Turin and does not rule out coaching them. It remains to be seen if they finish the season in the European positions during this campaign: after the sanction, the team are very far from the Champions League qualifying positions in Serie A.

Is a return to Real Madrid really on the cards?

Real Madrid have already hired Zidane on two separate occasions, but remain a possibility, according to RMC Sport. Bringing Zizou back for a third stint, however, seems highly unlikely after his departure still remain a recent event, happening only in 2021.

And now, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, Bayern Munich have appeared on the horizon, a European giant for whom the coach has a deep respect. In 2015 he visited the club’s facilities during his formative period as coach, where he learned from Pep Guardiola. The big drawback, however, is the language. Zidane does not speak German and that was one of the reasons why he refused to go to the Premier League in his day.
