Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo...Iker Casillas chooses his best ever 11
The ex-Madrid goalkeeper reveals who his best team would be if he had the pick of all players he coincided with at the club. He didn't choose himself as goalkeeper.
Iker Casillas was asked to put together his best starting line-up from all the players he has played with at Real Madrid since making his debut in the famous white shirt in 1997. Here is the line-up with the opinion of the keeper himself and a video of each of the stars involved:
Illgner: "We were together there in my first year and he helped me greatly. He was an important member of the seventh European Cup winning team."
Salgado: “He gets up and down the line phenomenally and is a strong defensively too."
Roberto Carlos: “Strong and powerful. He's incredible.”
Hierro and Ramos: “Both have similar styles with different physiques. Very good with their heads.”
Figo: “I liked being with him and being his team-mate. He's a great person."
Zidane: “He makes magic happen with a football.”
Redondo: “Class, forceful, great passing and an elegant player.”
Ronaldo: “It was a joy to watch him play.”
Cristiano: “For what he achieved and for his goals.”
Raúl: “He is enigmatic. He gave so much to this club.”
