Well. The miracle will have to wait for another day.

Leicester City fans won't see their team crowned champions today but the Foxes remain in pole position to claim the Premier League title following a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Ranieri's men looked nervous from the off and they quickly went behind to an early 8th minute goal from Anthony Martial. They came back strongly, however, equalizing through a Wes Morgan header and had a number of good chances to go ahead as the game wore on. So too did United, but they couldn't find a way past an impressive Kaspar Schmeichel. Danny Drinkwater's harsh dismissal late on for a second yellow came too late to change the outcome of the game.

Leicester will likely be the happier of the two sides. Top of the table rivals Tottenham now have to win all their remaining fixtures, including tomorrow's tricky away fixture at Chelsea, and hope that the Foxes drop points. Whatever happens, a Leicester win at home to out-of-sorts Everton next week will wrap up the league title. United, meanwhile, had been looking to keep up the pressure on cross-city rivals Manchester City in the hope of sneaking into the top 4 but the draw means that the chances of watching Champions League football at Old Trafford next season are now hanging precariously by a thread.

Peeep! And that's full-time. The miracle will have to wait for another day! Ranieri strolls onto the pitch congratulating both teams and the Leicester fans look pretty happy in the stands. Thanks for following!

Min 92 | Heart in mouth stuff for Leicester there. Schmeichel scrambles to get to a backwards-deflected Wes Morgan clearance and gets rid just in time. Old Trafford heroics reminiscent of his famous father...

Min 90 | We'll have 4 minutes of stoppage time, says the fourth official.

Min 89 | Nervy times for Leicester. Depay fires a free kick into the wall on the edge of the box before Rooney curls in a shot and forces a save from Schmeichel.

Min 88 | Leicester eat up some time with a sub. Mahrez off for Andy King.

Min 86 | Red card for Danny Drinkwater! Depay goes down very, very easily on the edge of the box and that's his second yellow. Manchester United players appeal frantically for a penalty but the ref deems it just outside the box. Rather harsh, that decision...

Min 85 | 5 minutes to go. United probably need the win more than Leicester do - if they drop points they fall even further behind in the race for 4th. Leicester would probably take a draw here and wait for Tottenham to slip up against Chelsea tomorrow evening.

Min 84 | Free kick to United but Rooney's swung-in cross is easily gathered by Schmeichel.

Min 80 | Third and final sub for United. Depay on for Marcus Rashford.

Min 79 | Mahrez released down the right wing but his cross to Ulloa is intercepted by Rooney. The England captain is everywhere!

Min 78 | De Gea fluffs a clearance from a back pass straight to Mahrez but Leicester can't capitalize.

Min 78 | Uyyy! Smalling heads a cross in from the left towards goal and it looks like Schmeichel made a great save to his left. Ref signals for a goal kick though and the centre-back runs back into position looking a little miffed.

Min 77 | Schlupp off for Leicester, Albrighton enters the fray in his place.

Min 76 | Wow, Martial is one speedy customer. He accelerates past the full back and fires his shot across the box but there's nobody on the end of it.

Min 74 | Another sub for United. Fellaini comes off and is replaced by Ander Herrera.

Min 73 | Martial bursts into the box but is crowded out by Leicester players. Fellaini recovers the ball but is flagged for handball.

Min 70 | Leicester go close again! Great skill from Mahrez to worm his way around United defenders on the edge of the box but his stinging shot is punched away by De Gea.

Min 69 | Daley Blind swings in a corner. Fellaini gets to it first but heads wide left.

Min 66 | First change for Leicester City. Okazaki goes off and is replaced by 19-year-old Demarai Gray.

Min 65 | Rooney drags down Mahrez on the half way line and goes in the book. Protests his innocence but Oliver isn't impressed.

Min 63 | Silky skills from Mahrez but he's crowded out and brought down. Free kick to Leicester. Ulloa gets on the end of Drinkwater's cross but it goes wide to the left of De Gea's goal.

Min 61 | First change of the game. Lindgard comes off and Juan Mata trots on in his place.

Min 58 | And another! This time for Leicester. Drinkwater brings down Rashford who was pulling away from him down the left wing and goes in the book for his troubles. Free kick headed away.

Min 56 | Another yellow for United. Carrick goes in the book for a challenge on Schlupp. They don't seem to like him very much.

Min 53 | Ulloa's shot is deflected on the edge of the box and Leicester have a corner. Okazaki rises high to head towards the far post but it's cleared. Leicester have definitely looked the more dangerous since the break, Ranieri will be pleased.

Min 52 | Lindgard goes in the book for crunching challenge on Schlupp. First yellow of the day.

Min 50 | Uyyyyy! Leicester come close again. Simpson's feeds the ball across the box but it takes a deflection and trickles agonizingly out of reach of a Leicester player. Corner is headed over and United have the ball back.

Min 48 | Rooney gives the ball away and Fellaini chases Schlupp for what seems like an eternity before the Leicester player is dispossessed for a throw in. Nothing much comes from it and United regain possession in their own half.

Min 47 | Rooney dropping very deep to pick up the ball. Feeds Martial down the left who forces a throw in. He gets the ball back and fires in a shot at Schmeichel's goal, but it goes wide.

Min 46 | We're back underway at Old Trafford.

Peeep! Oliver blows for half time and the players head into the dressing room. Leicester started nervously but steadied the ship after the equalizer. United look like they'll keep pushing forward but they do leave space at the back, which Leicester could capitalize upon.

Min 45 | Lindgard's cross is easily picked up by Schmeichel. With 1 minute of stoppage time, that should be that for this opening half.

Min 42 | First a Rooney shot is blocked by Drinkwater before Huth deflects away a cross in from the right. Corner to United, which is then headed away by Drinkwater. Leicester will be thankful for those big bodies down the middle.

Min 39 | Leicester have settled and are looking more dangerous now. Drinkwater forces a corner and once again it's Morgan who gets to it first but he heads it over.

Min 38 | Mahrez goes down in a tussle with Rojo and calls for a penalty but nothing happening says Oliver. Leicester players didn't make a fuss either.

Min 37 | Leicester go close! Mahrez swings in a cross from the right but Ulloa doesn't catch it cleanly and heads over.

Min 35 | Lindgard wins another corner for United. Daley Blind swings in the cross but Fellaini's header is easily saved by Schmeichel.

Min 33 | Fuchs flagged for a hard challenge on Lindgard, catching his boot. No card.

Min 30 | Down the other end, Danny Simpson is caught out on the ball setting Lindgard free on the half way line but manages to recover and take back the ball. Calls for a foul as the last man but the ref isn't having any of it. Good decision really. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Min 29 | Leicester threaten! Schlupp tags onto Mahrez's cross-box pass but has his shot well blocked. Poor first touch.

Min 25 | Dangerous low cross from Rojo headed away well by Robert Huth. United still pressing though.

Min 24 | They may be back on level terms but Ranieri's men do look nervous, with a number of passes gone a stray and rushed clearances. No pressure, lads.

Min 21 | United win a free kick on the edge of the box but Rooney can only fire into the Leicester wall.

Min 19 | Fellaini forces a corner down the United right but nobody gets on the end of the cross and it goes out for a throw in.

Min 16 | Goooooaaaal Leicester!! Captain Wes Morgan comes up big and heads home Drinkwater's free kick in a crowded penalty box. Questions have to be asked about Rojo's defending there. Game on, title on.

Min 13 | Terrific save low down to his left by Kaspar Schmeichel to deny Lindgard. Leicester looking nervous.

Min 11 | Mahrez gets the ball on the left of the United penalty area and crosses but Okazaki can only head over. Cross was a bit high and behind the Japanese forward.

Min 7 | Goooooaaaal United!! Anthony Martial latches onto a cross in from the left and fires home, beating Kaspar Schmeichel at his near post. Not the start Ranieri and Leicester fans were after.

Min 6 | Fellaini clumsily brings down Ulloa but the ref keeps his cards in his pocket.

Min 5 | Rashford has a shot blocked on the edge of the box. Leicester sitting back with United pushing foward early.

Min 4 | United threaten in the opening minutes. Scrappy play on the edge of the box leads to a Lindgard cross from the right but Martial is flagged offside.

Peeep! Michael Oliver gets us underway and United kick off.

5 mins to kick-off | The teams head out of the tunnel and onto the Old Trafford pitch. It's a lovely rainy day in Manchester.

10 mins to kick-off | Both sides come into today with 4 wins in their last 5 games. United have a lot to play for too: a win will take them to within just 2 points of City who sit in that highly coveted 4th Champions League spot.

15 mins to kick-off | It's a big day up in the North West. In case you haven't heard, Leicester City could finally do the impossible and wrap up the Premier League title here in Manchester with a win.

Preview of Manchester United v Leicester City

Just two seasons after they were promoted from the Championship, Leicester City are just one win away from being crowned Premier League champions. Claudio Ranieri’s team visit Old Trafford (15:05 CEST) aiming to write a new chapter in club history. It’s not a question of if Leicester can win what would be their first league crown, but when. If they don’t beat United this afternoon, they will still scoop the league if Tottenham lose away at Chelsea tomorrow.

In what has been a fairytale of all fairytales, the Foxes need just three points from an available nine – to become the first English side to win the league within a year or two of being promoted since Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest at the tail end of the 1970s.

Leicester’s success has been a team effort but one figure has stood out – striker Jamie Vardy is the team’s top scorer on 22 goals; unfortunately, he won’t be lining up at Old Trafford today as he is completing the last part of a two-match ban.

Greatness awaits, but will it arrive later this afternoon at the appropriately-named ‘Theatre of Dreams’?
