AC Milan set to lock horns with Manchester United over Isco
Jose Mourinho sees the midfielder as the ideal replacement for Wayne Rooney should he decide to leave but will face competition from the Serie A giants, who are now backed by Chinese capital.Copa del Rey live:Quarter Final Draw
AC Milan to rival Manchester United for Isco
Reports in England say that Manchester United will face stiff competition from AC Milan if they decide to make a move for out-of-favour Real Madrid midfielder Isco. The 24 year-old has played just three games and struggled with injury problems so far this season.
Isco, Mourinho's replacement for Wayne Rooney
Isco isn’t part of Zinedine Zidane’s future plans at the Santiago Bernabéu – he watched all of Real Madrid’s draw with Villarreal in midweek from the bench despite the absence of Modric and Casemiro in midfield – and could look for a way out as a means of securing first-team football. United coach Jose Mourinho is looking for a player in his mould to play behind the strikers, a position that captain Wayne Rooney has failed to impress in this season.
AC Milan keen to spend
Any attempts to bring Isco to Old Trafford would however face competition from AC Milan. Following the club’s recent purchase by Chinese venture capital firm Haixia Capital, the rossoneri are keen to return to their former glory after a mediocre spell and are willing to spend money in the process. Isco, who would bring some creativity to their dull midfield, fits the bill perfectly.
