Pepe, pitchside

Pepe took time out to talk with Antena 3's pitchside cameras after Tuesday's 5-1 victory over Legia Warsaw at the Bernabéu. The Real Madrid centre-back heaped praise on the younger players who really came to the fore against the Polish side also and spoke about the prospect of renewing his contract with Madrid.

The win: "We played well, always with respect for our opponents, but we also wanted to score a lot of goals like we always do".

Young guns

Morata, Lucas Vázquez...: "All of them - everyone in the squad did great. We have a very complete squad here at Madrid - it's a group with a lot of quality, those who enter the team and those who make way. And it's great to see the younger lads pushing hard for a place - that's a good thing".

Contract extension up in the air

New contract: "I'm relaxed about it, I want to help Real Madrid, a club which I love a lot. My time will come. I'm calm".

But is there an agreement? You want a two-year extension and Madrid are offering one? "I hope that the club calls me first to resolve the situation. I'm relaxed, the people at the club know that this is my home. As I have said before, I will wait until the last second for Madrid".

Is it still your plan to retire at Madrid? "Yes, my objective is to retire here".
