Jesús García Pitarch has resigned from his role as Sporting Director at Valencia - just under one year after taking the post, the club announced in a statement this evening. The decision comes as a suprise as García Pitarch was due to fly to Turin on Monday to meet up with Juventus officials to complete the loans of striker Simone Zaza and full-back Patrice Evra.

Suso García Pitarch becomes the second employee to leave their post following Cesare Prandelli's decision to quit as first team coach little over a week ago.

Jesús García Pitarch has resigned irrevocably from his role as Sporting Director

1) Jesús García Pitarch has resigned irrevocably from his role as Sporting Director.

2) Current VCF Academy Director, José Ramón Alesanco, will take on the position in an interim capacity.

3) His immediate tasks will be to continue with the work scheduled for the current winter market, and work on everything related to the Valencia CF first team in coordination with coach Salvador 'Voro' González.
