LALIGA

BBC & MSN eclipsed by Iago Aspas, LaLiga's most effective striker

Neither Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo nor Barcelona's Lionel Messi make the Top 10 efficient LaLiga forwards.

Update:
BBC & MSN eclipsed by Iago Aspas, LaLiga's most effective striker

BBC? MSN?

No-one can doubt that both Real Madrid's BBC trio of Gareth Bale, Benzema and Cristiano coupled with Barça's MSN (Messi, Suárez and Neymar) feature six of global football's best strikers. Despite being synonymous with goal scoring they, surprisingly are not the most effective forwards currently in the Spanish top flight.

'Fútbol Avanzado' has complied a study of the most effective forwards in action in LaLiga based on how many shots on goal a player requires before scoring (a ratio of shots that are converted in goal) with the list being based on a series of players who have featured in more than 500 minutes of match time from the start of the campaign to present day.

Efficiency in front of goal: Iago Aspas

According to the findings, Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas is the number one. Despite having bagged 13 LaLiga goals (less than Messi, Suárez and Cristiano) he's the most effective player in front of goal with a strike ratio of one goal per every 3,62 shots.

Luis Suárez is in third place, with the Uruguayan finding the net from every 4,06 shots and surprisingly Leo Messi is in 14th position, with the No. 10 bagging a goal from every 5,20 shots. Cristiano and Bale languish in 26th and 27th position respectively with the Portuguese marksman finding the net from every 6,81 shots with Bale hitting the back of the net from 7 attempts. Benzema is in 37th place (8,40) with Neymar in 42nd spot (a goal per 10,17 shots).

Morata in Top 10

Álvaro Morata appears in the top ten with his eight LaLiga goals this season. Despite failing to convince Zidane for a starting position with Real Madrid, the 24 year old bags a goal in every 4,50 attempts, furthering calls from the Bernabeu faithful for him to line up for "Los Merengues" from the start instead of Benzema.
