Juanito: Arbeloa pays tribute with apparent Piqué swipe
Álvaro Arbeloa took to social media on Sunday with a seeming riposte to the controversial comments made by Gerard Piqué last Tuesday.
Former Real Madrid defender Álvaro Arbeloa made the most of the club's tributes to Juanito on Sunday to send an apparent message to Gerard Piqué over his recent controversial remarks about the LaLiga side.
Real Madrid honour late, great Juanito
Before their league clash with Alavés at the Bernabéu, Real marked the 25th anniversary of the club legend's tragic death in a car accident in April 1992.
A huge banner was unfurled depicting his No. 7 shirt with the message "We won't forget you", while a second tifo bore an image of the forward in action.
Arbeloa: "If anyone asks about our values..."
And Arbeloa, who is now at West Ham, reacted on Twitter by writing: "If anyone asks about our values, tell them that Juanito was everything we wanted to be."
His post is a seeming nod to Piqué's attack on Real Madrid on Tuesday evening, when the Barcelona man declared: "I don't like the values Real transmit".
The tweet was accompanied by an image of the teams observing a minute's silence for Juanito ahead of the match, which saw Real win 3-0 to stay top of LaLiga.
