Gerard Piqué and Ivan Rakitic are both suspended, while Rafinha has joined long-term absentees Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal on the treatment table. He'll be out for four months with a knee injury sustained in the victory against Granada last weekend.
Málaga have problems of their own. Keko Gontán is suspended, having collected five bookings. Sandro, Mikel, Ricca, Ontiveros, Rosales and Juanpi are each on four yellow cards, and will need to watch their step.
