Bonucci and Higuain top Serie A high earners list

The new Milan defender and Argentine striker top the highest paid players in the Italian top flight as revealed by Gazzetta dello Sport today.

Bonucci and Higuain top Serie A earners list

New AC Milan acquisition Leonardo Bonucci joins former team-mate Gonzalo Higuan as the highest paid players in Italy's top flight for the 2017/18 season. 

The information was revealed in today's Gazzetta dello Sport who published an extensive breakdown of the wages at each of the twenty clubs that compose Serie A. 

Juventus comfortably lead the way when it comes to wage bills with three of the highest earners in Italy currently playing with the "Old Lady": Higuain 7.5 million euro per season, Paulo Dybala (7 million) and Douglas Costa on an annual wage of 6 million euro.

Juve lead the way 

The Turin based outfit also boast of the highest collective wage bill with an annual expedientare of 164 million euro on player salaries. Some way behind are AC Milan with a outgoing of 117 million euro on salaries and AS Roma third on the podium with a wage bill of 91 million euro per season.

The Juventus bill contrasts somewhat with that of Crotone who have the lowest wage outlay in the category with the Southern based side paying 12 million euro to their players with Bosnian Ante Budimir being the highest earner at the club on an annual salary of €450.000 per campaign.

Allegri highest earner 

Juventus also claim top spot when it comes to paying head coaches in Italy with Massimiliano Allegri pocketing 7 million euro per season with the league champions. He's followed by new Inter boss Luciano Spalletti (4 million euro) and Milan's Vincenzo Montella earning 3 million euro per season.
