Real Madrid keeping an eye on Timo Werner

Timo Werner, 21-year-old striker for RB Leipzig, is the latest pearl of European football and Real Madrid just happen to be looking for a striker to reinforce their squad. Reports in Spain now suggest that the LaLiga side are interested in Werner having impressed on international duty recently.

According to Jugones, Real Madrid are keeping a very close eye on Werner because, as it stands, they are relying solely on Karim Benzema and Borja Mayoral and need further depth at the striker position going forward. Los Blancos showed their interest by attending the Germany versus Norway game in which Joachim Loew's side annihilated the Norweigans thanks to a double from Werner.

Real Madrid are looking for the best young talent to bolster their squad and showed their commitment to this approach by purchasing Dani Ceballos and Theo Hernandez during the summer transfer window. The future of the club is in the hands of the likes of Marco Asensio and Isco and Timo Werner would be an excellent complement to their talents.

The 21-year-old exploded onto the scene last season scoring 21 goals in 31 games for the Bundesliga outfit. He has earned the trust of Joachim Loew with his solid performances too scoring six in his first eight international caps. He is sure to be a starting centre-forward for a top team for years to come and Real Madrid will be in the middle of the bidding should his form continute on it's current trajectory.
