Madrid's poorest start to a season at the Bernabéu since 1998
One has to go back 19 years to find a poorer start to a campaign with just three wins at home in seven games in a new season.

This is Real Madrid's poorest start to a new season at home this century with one having to go back to the 1998/99 campaign to find a poorer opening phase to a season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With last night's 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham in the Champions League, Zidane's men have won three, drawn three with a solitary loss coming in LaLiga at the hands of Real Betis in the seven official home games for the current 2017/18 campaign where the men in white have played four LaLiga games, twice in the Champions League along with the return leg of the Spanish Super Cup. In the '98 season the side then under the guidance of Guus Hiddink secured three wins, two ties and two losses.

Goal drought
Another damning statistic that echoes the teams' poor start is that of goal scoring at home. Only on 11 occasions have the home crowd been able to celebrate a goal this season so far with this goal shy tally only being matched on one occasion this century so far. The 2004/05 season under the guidance of Camacho and García Remón saw the Real Madrid steam of that time just managed to hit the opposition net 11 times.
