The pre-match lunch between Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur bosses ahead of their Champions League clash at the Bernabéu could go down in history as the beginning of a major signing saga.

Real Madrid ask how much Kane would cost

It was the Times who set tongues wagging ahead of the meeting, saying that Harry Kane (24 years old and with 112 goals in the Premier League) was valued at 200 million euros. And now El Transistor programme on Onda Cero had revealed more details of the discussions. According to the radio station, Madrid formally asked how much Kane would cost. "The answer was that he was worth 200 million euros, in line with what the Times had published", said journalist Fernando Burgos. At this Real Madrid supposedly brought up the possibility of including Gareth Bale in any deal, and also Borja Mayoral "who Real Madrid value at 30 million euros".

Sources consulted by this newspaper said that Spurs boss Pochettino is keen on Mayoral. He wanted him two summer ago, before he went to Wolfsburg, and tried again this past summer. Players who have been through Real Madrid's Fábrica academy are highly coveted at Tottenham, since Villas Boas was coach there. He wanted Morata and Jesé included in the Modric deal, but Levy was keener for a cash only approach.

According to Onca Cero, Real Madrid have now lost faith in Bale, after Florentino decided to give him one more season with an offer from United on the table. Tottenham or Chelsea could be possible destinations for the Welshman if Real Madrid decide to sell in order to bring in Kane...
