Deschamps: "We will not take risks with Varane"
The Real Madrid defender did not play against Las Palmas due to injury but he arrived at Clairfontaine on Monday with his French teammates.
Didier Deschamps says he will not take a risk with Raphael Varane as he arrived in Clairfontaine for international duty, "He had a little problem last week and couldn't play last weekend. We will see his development in the next 72 hours but we won't be taking any risks. Is it a problem of time, not an big muscle problem," Deschamps said.
The player arrived with his teammates and said, "I am happy to return here with France, like always." Zidane confirmed that Varane would travel with France after the Las Palmas game and they would assess him once with the national side.
Varane has played 11 of 19 games for Real Madrid this season and has also suffered two muscular injuries to start the year. The first happened at the very start of the season after the Spanish Super Cup first leg against Barcelona and led to some difficulty for the player starting the season. He was taken off against Girona a couple of weeks ago and was ruled out against Las Palmas on Sunday during the side's 3-0 win.
