Liverpool's Mohamed Salah named Arab Player of the Year
Honours keep rolling in for the Egypt forward, who has been setting the Premier League alight since his summer move from AS Roma.
Egypt international Mohamed Salah has been named Arab Player of the Year by the Arab Sports Press Association.
The Liverpool forward was selected in a poll of around 100 sports journalists from several Arab countries.
Salah, 25, collected 582 points in the poll. Syria’s Omar Khribin, 2017 AFC Player of the Year, came second with 198 points.
The honour comes less than a month after the Egyptian international was named 2017 BBC African Player of the Year.
Salah’s astonishing season
Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma last summer, Salah has enjoyed of great success.
He has scored 23 goals in all competitions for the Anfield side - more than eight sides in the Premier League.
Salah was the driving force behind Egypt reaching the 2018 World Cup, their first appearance in 28 years.
The 25-year-old is also the favorite to win the upcoming African Player of the Year award.
