Osmane Dembéle, suffering with a bout of stomach flu, was the most notable absence for Barcelona at training on Monday. The French attacker, who has had a horrible time with injuries since arriving at the club in the summer, is hoping he recovers now in time for Thursday when Ernesto Valvdere summons his players to return for training.

Gerard Piqué also continues to train with a specific regime as he continues to recover from his right knee injury. Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez also worked on their own, in the gym, as they recover from their recent efforts in the last few weeks.

Barcelona will take a few days break to take stock after taking just two points in their last four games. Atlético Madrid are slowly but surely starting to stalk them in their pursuit of a league title. There are no panic statiosn yet, however, as they are still alive in the Champions League, leading the league by seven and are in the Copa del Rey final too. Valverde is aware that the only thing necessary in the next few days is to recover some enery from games at the Ipurua against Eibar and at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.
