UEFA designate Danny Makkelie to oversee Barcelona-Roma tie
The Dutch match official has overseen nine Champions League and Europa League games with an average of 3.17 yellow cards issued per match.
Dutch referee Danny Makkelie has been assigned by UEFA to oversee Wednesday's Champions League quarter final (first leg) tie as Barcelona face AS Roma at Campo Nou.
The official will be supported by compatriots Mario Diks and Hessel Steegstra with Kevin Blom and Kamphuis Jochem overseeing the area action. The Dutchman was the man in charge at Old Trafford recently where Sevilla ousted Manchester United from the competition.
Makkelie has overseen four champions League games this season wit two involving Sevilla FC: Liverpool-Sevilla (2-2), Celtic-Bayern (1-2), Chelsea-Atlético (1-1) and the aforementioned United-Sevilla (1-2).
