Juventus to join the fray for Antoine Griezmann

Dybala, Mandzukic and Higuaín are not meeting the Old Lady's expectations, leading the Juve board to consider a move for the France international.

Update:
Juventus to join the fray for Antoine Griezmann

Juventus are set to react to their Champions League mauling at the hands of Madrid, which in all likelihood has ended their interest in the Champions League this season, by planning an overhaul of their squad for next season.

Top of the Old Lady’s list of new recruits is Atlético Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, who has long been linked with a move to either Barcelona or Manchester United. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juve have identified the France international as the perfect player to spearhead a revolution in Turin after Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuaín have failed to entirely live up to expectations, particularly in Europe.

Griezmann has a minimum release clause of 100 million euros, which is more than acceptable to the Serie A giants, particularly if they can offload some of their current squad.

Juventus are also looking into a bid for Atlético defender José Giménez to rejuvenate a back line whose sell-by dates are approaching fairly quickly.

Meanwhile, various reports in Italy have linked Atlético boss Diego Simeone with a move for Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, who is seen by the club’s technical staff as an ideal replacement for club captain Gabi, who will celebrate his 35th birthday in July. The Croatia international, 25, fits a similar profile and has been one of Inter’s stand-out players this season. Simeone’s links to the Nerazzurri should go some way to smoothing the way for a successful bid if Inter are willing to do business, with Brozovic valued at around 20 million euros.
