Neymar's father assures Al-Khelaifi and PSG that he is staying
Al-Khelaifi, the president of PSG spoke about Neymar again and said he has said 10,000 times that Neymar is staying with assurances from Neymar Snr.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi spoke to L'Equipe after Unai Emery sealed the double for PSG in his last game for the club. The end of the Ligue 1 side's campaign has been overshadowed by Neymar and the news that he is in contact with Real Madrid and the interview between the club president and the newspaper was no different.
Al Khelaifi says he is not concerned with what is said, pointing the finger at the Spanish media in particular. He believes in Neymar's father and what he says. "He stays, for sure. I have repeated it 10,000 times that he is staying. His father told me: "His future is in Paris". Neymar is tired of all these rumours. There are Spanish media that say he will go. If you believe it, too bad for you. I won't keep responding to this questions. He has a contract for four years," said the Qatari. Neymar returned to Paris after his surgery but returned to Brazil shortly afterwards with the permission of the club.
The one issue that Al-Khelaifi is not willing to abide by is poor attitudes at the club. "Nothing and nobody is bigger than the club. Not the trainer and not the players. The club will always come first, it is the strongest. If someone does not go on this path and he isn't happy, then he goes," he added.
He was also asked about the failure in the Champions League again, saying, "A lot of factores come into play in the Champions League, like the draw. We had bad luck to play against Madrid, who are in the final another time. After that, you need luck in the game. Until the 80th minute in the first leg, we were better. In the return leg, we suffered a difficult blow with the sending off of Verratti. And you have to take into account that Madrid have great experience in this competition."
The PSG boss also asked for more respect from referees. "I want more respect from them. I am not complaining but sometimes the referees have more respect for the big clubs. It is easy to make certain types of decision against PSG or for other teams that have more prestige. It's a reality," he said.
