19-year-old Mbappé inherits No. 10 shirt of Platini and Zidane

19-year-old Mbappé inherits
No. 10 shirt of Platini and Zidane

The French Football Federation has unveiled the squad numbers of the 23 players heading to Russia for the World Cup in June. And PSG's 19-year-old frontman Mbappé has been given the honour of donning the shirt that once belonged to the two biggest legends of French football.

With the absence of Gignac, who wore the number 10 shirt during the European Championship in 2016, and Payet, who has often worn the coveted jersey, the question on everyone's lips in France was who would be the next heir to Zidane and Platini.

There is no doubt the pressure will be on the 19-year-old to live up to the number 10 jersey, in which many young French players, like Julien Fabert, have disappointed.

All hopes on Mbappé, Dembélé and Griezmann

With their team as one of the favorites, the French public will be counting on the new number 10, and his strike partners, Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann (who will wear number 7), and Barcelona's Ousmane Dembélé (number 11), to carry 'Les Bleus' all the way to the final at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Ju1y 15.
