Keylor Navas an option for Manchester City

According to reports in Spain, the Costa Rican stopper, now facing the fact he's probably Real Madrid's second choice keeper behind new signing Courtois, could be in Manchester City's sights. The Premier League club could be keen to bring him in on an emergency loan deal to provide back-up for Ederson after Claudio Bravo snapped his achilles tendon. Navas has though always insisted he'll fight for his place at Real Madrid.

Juventus better than Real Madrid

No striker for Real Madrid

Our analysts have pored over the stats and concluded that Real Madrid were basically playing without a centre-forward in their 2-0 win over Getafe on Sunday. Basically nobody in a white shirt ever really wandered into the box.

Back to training

The Real Madrid first team squad were back in training this morning at 11:00 CEST at Valdebebas, after having yesterday off. Their next match is away against Girona on Sunday night at 22:15 CEST. You'll be able to follow that match live here on AS English of course.

The team started with a gym session before working on pressing and ball circulation. After that it was crossing practice, ball work and all round fitness for Lopetegui's men, before finishing up with mini-games on small pitches.

Odegaard to Vitesse

Odegaard's wanderings continue, with the not-as-young-as-he-was-but-still-only-19-years-old Norwegian heading to Vitesse on loan. He was at Heerenven last season. He arrived at Real Madrid back in 2014 and has made two senior appearances for the club.
