Neymar-Cavani "to be a real problem for PSG" - Lizarazu

Neymar and Edinson Cavani were involved in another spat while on international duty during a friendly match between Brazil and Uruguay in London last weekend when tension between the PSG teammates boiled over.

The two stars have been under the spotlight at club level following their penalty taking dispute at the Parc des Princes and rumours have abounded since that the pair are involved in a power struggle at PSG, a club where Cavani played second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for so long and probably assumed the departure of the combustible Swede would pave the way for him to assume leadership of the side.

But the arrival of Neymar led to a series of disputes in the Brazilian’s first season in Ligue 1, with some observers noting that the two barely have a mutual understanding on the pitch or off it.

Cavani: "There are no friendly games"

Their relationship is volcanic, there is a lot of tension between them, too much fire,” noted Bixente Lizarazu, who was commentating on the game for French television. “I think it’s going to be a real problem for PSG this season.

After the game, Cavani admitted there had been an argument between the pair but denied that it went any further than the usual on-pitch boiling over of tempers: “Nobody likes to lose, there are no friendly games, that’s why sometimes some people get angry. There was a bit of tension but when the game ended, everybody was fine again.”
