Cristiano Ronaldo wins Globe Soccer player of the year
The Portuguese player, who moved from Real Madrid to Juventus in the summer, picked up his fifth title.
Cristiano Ronaldo won his fifth Globe Soccer player of the year award this Thursday in the Madinat Jumeirah Resort in Dubai.

The player, who moved from Real Madrid to Juventus last summer, was in Dubai to collect the award, which he picked up ahead of the also-nominated French players Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappé.
"2018 was an incredible year. I hope to win a lot more trophies for my new club, Juventus" said Cristiano Ronaldo.
The other Ronaldo, Ronaldo Nazario de Lima won the player career award, with a look back at all the clubs he played for.
Didier Deschamps won the coach of the year award, thanks to taking France to the World Cup title in the summer. Fabio Capello meanwhile received the coach career award.
Atlético Madrid beat Real Madrid and Liverpool to take the club of the year award.
