Real Madrid set to withdraw from Eriksen pursuit
The Danish player is one of Europe's most highly coveted with Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern and Juventus interested in his services.
Despite becoming a free agent in 2020, Real Madrid have decided not to pursue their interest in the Danish player.
The Bernabéu club had hoped to be able to secure the Spurs player's services for a fee ranging from 56 to 84 million euros but fear that any asking price from Tottenham would be grossly inflated after Barcelona paid out 86 million (75 plus 11 in variables) for Ajax central midfielder Frenkie De Jong. Earlier it was reported that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had earmarked a price of 250 million euros on the Danish creative midfielder.
Eriksen's current contract with the North London outfit expires on June 30, 2020 and the Premier League side are worried that if no renewal agreement is concluded, the Dane could be in a position to abandon the club as a free agent.
Despite Real Madrid's reported distancing themselves from the Danish player, Eriksen remains highly coveted with clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus fighting for his signature.
