Real Madrid: City, Chelsea and Juventus all keen on Isco
Rai Sport claims that Juventus are planning on pushing to the front of the queue for the out-of-favour midfielder, with the Premier League also a possible destination.
Real Madrid midfielder Isco remains firmly out of Santiago Solari’s plans and was handed just a few minutes from the bench against Alavés as Vinicius further staked his claim for a permanent starting role at the Bernabéu.
Since the Argentinean took over from Julen Lopetegui, Isco has falled completely out of favour and although the 26-year-old elected to stay in Madrid during the January window – purely to see if he outlasts Solari’s tenure in the dugout – if the Real Madrid boss remains past the end of the current season it is inevitable that Isco will leave.
Juventus have long been linked with a move for the Spain international and according to Rai Sport the Old Lady are maneuvering to be at the front of the queue if Real decide to sell in the summer.
Isco concerned about Spain place
But the Serie A champions will not have an unopposed run at Isco, with Chelsea and Manchester City also keeping a close on eye on the situation. The player’s representatives have been listening to tentative offers and it appears that Madrid will be willing to do business at a fee in the region of 80 million euros.
Isco, meanwhile, is conscious that his inactivity at club level also has an effect on his place in the national side, where under Lopetegui he was an undisputed starter. With Luis Enrique now at the helm, a manager who famously does not do favourites, Isco’s inactivity will make it very difficult for him to be included in Enrique’s squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers against Norway and Malta.
