Inter Milan name their price for Mauro Icardi
The figure of €80 million may increase depending on interest for the striker. Inter have stripped the player of the captaincy and Icardi has not played for the "Nerazzurri" for over a month.
Real Madrid are closely monitoring the European market for a striker with the name of Argentine striker Mauro Icardi heavily linked with the club from the Spanish capital. Madrid representatives reportedly spoke to Inter last week and have been told that a price tag of 80 million euro has been placed on Icardi's signature. This figure may see an increment with other sides, primarily Napoli and Juventus showing interest in securing's the Inter striker's services as planning for the 2019-20 season commences in earnest.
Icardi's current situation with the "Nerazzurri" is far from settled with the player having been stripped of the captain's armband in February and mysteriously has not worn the black and blue shirt since then. His lack of playing time also contributed to Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni overlooking the player for the latest Argentina friendly games scheduled for the end of March.
Meeting
A delegation from Real Madrid were scheduled to meet the player's representatives last week but the sudden announcement and presentation of Zinedine Zidane as new first team coach caused the trip to Milan to be postponed with club representatives speaking to the player's partner and agent Wanda Nara.
Whilst Icardi remains as the main target for the Bernabéu outfit, Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is the other player on the Real Madrid 'wanted list' but prizing the 25-year-old away from the North London club would be a tougher task with an exorbitant price of 350 million euro the reported asking price for the England international who is a key player for the Premier League side who are poised to move into their refurbished White Hart Lane stadium.
