Kevin de Bruyne came off injured in the 38th minute of Manchester City’s vital Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad this Saturday afternoon.
De Bruyne slipped while shooting
With City leading 1-0, through Foden’s headed fourth minute goal. De Bruyne went for a shot from outside the box, but his left foot slipped just as he made contact with the ball, and he appeared to tweak something in his knee as a result.
The Manchester City player instantly called for assistance and looked to be in some discomfort as he lay on the turf. He was attended to by the City medical team on the pitch, before being helped to his feet and walking slowly off. He was replaced by Fernandinho.
The loss of De Bruyne would be a major blow for Manchester City as they seek to retain their title in a close race against Liverpool. The Belgian international has been in superb form since he returned from a lengthy injury lay-off.
Manchester City face Manchester United in the derby on Wednesday, a match that's being seen as vital with Liverpool having gone into this weekend with a one point advantage at the top of the table.
