Rafa Nadal pulls off shot of the tournament on match point
The world number two was given a solid workout by Jan-Lennard Struff in Barcelona but prevailed 7-5, 7-5 with a stunning winner on match point.
Rafa Nadal is chasing down a remarkable 12th title at the Barcelona Open and a fourth in succession but was made to work to reach the semifinals on Friday.
Facing world number 51 Jan-Lennard Struff on the court named after him, Nadal carved out a 7-5, 7-5 victory to reach the last four but his final shot, on match point, will remain in memory for some time.
Racing across the baseline to reach a Struff volley, Nadal unleashed a forehand that just found the back of the court to seal the match with a service break at 6-5 in the second.
