Frank de Boer wants to bring the Ajax style to Atlanta United
De Boer praised the work of Sporting Kansas and their player academy, which reminds him of the Dutch team one, a development he wants to introduce in Atlanta.
For Atlanta United head coach, Frank de Boer, Sporting Kansas City is one of the best clubs in the United States and praised them for developing a structure that allows an organization to establish a consistent and attractive style.
De Boer knows what he's talking about as he was part of one of the most important players' academy, Ajax Amsterdam, the club that is currently surprising the the world on their current run to reach the Champions League final.
The Dutch strategist talked to Atlanta's media about how the team wants to build the Ajax system mirroring that of the Kansas outfit and is also hoping to see other MLS sides and the USMNT go down in similar paths as Ajax, though he admitted it's not an easy task because Holland is a smaller country.
Style System
Frank de Boer explained that in order to develop such a successful style and quality players, the Dutch team teaches kids at a very young age so by the time they're ready to become professionals the Ajax DNA is already implied.
"It all comes to strength and discipline. Ajax is very strict; every training has to be better than the last; every pass has to be accurate. Even in my time, you could see who was an Ajax player and who wasn't because they had a good education in running and passing," concluded the Dutchman.
