Real Madrid to announce signing of Chelsea's Eden Hazard
According to French newspaper L'Équipe, the Belgian attacking midfielder is on the verge of joining Los Blancos for around 100 million euros.
Real Madrid are to announce the signing of Chelsea player Eden Hazard this month, for a fee of around 100 million euros, according to L'Équipe.
Hazard announcement imminent
The Belgian star's potential move to the Spanish giants has been one of the worst kept secrets for some time, with the player making it clear he wanted a switch to LaLiga. The French newspaper has claimed that the official announcement will be made following the Europa League final in Baku on 29 May between Arsenal and Chelsea, Hazard's final official game for the Stamford Bridge club. He will then remain with The Blues for a commitment in the USA, in a friendly against the New England Revolution.
After bidding farewell to his club, Hazard will be involved in national team duties with Euro qualifiers against Kazakstan and Scotland in June. After that he will be free to join up with his compatriot Thibaut Courtois in the Spanish capital.
The winger has been in London since 2012 when he joined for around 36 million euros from Ligue 1 side Lille. With just one year remaining on his contract, all parties were hoping to come to an agreement to make the move happen.
