Juventus confirmed this afternoon that Massimiliano Allegri will not continue as the team's coach next season, despite having one year to run on his contract. The 51-year-old, who has held the position since 2014, will give a press conference with club president Andrea Agnelli tomorrow ahead of this Sunday's home meeting with Atalanta - which will be his penultimate game in charge. Allegri will be on the bench for the last time with Juve a week on Sunday when his team are guests of Sampdoria.

Juventus statement on Allegri

Juventus issued a statement this afternoon which read: "Massimiliano Allegri will not be on the Juventus bench for the 2019/2020 season. The coach and the President, Andrea Agnelli, will meet the media together at tomorrow's press conference - Saturday 18 May, at 2pm in the press conference hall of Allianz Stadium".

Allgeri took the reins at Juventus in 2014 after spells with AC Milan and Cagliari. During his five years in Turin, he guided the team to five consecutive Serie A titles and four Coppa Italias. There were question marks over his future following the team's elimination from the Champions League to Ajax at the quarter final stage. Former Juve boss Antonio Conte has been linked with a return to the job - he will be among candidates which include Mauricio Pochettino, Andrea Pirlo, José Mourinho and Simone Inzaghi
