Juventus central defender Giorgio Chiellini has heaped praise on team mate Cristiano Ronaldo regarding the Portuguese star’s work ethic and competitive nature.

Chiellini, who has shared a dressing room with Ronaldo since he made his 100-million-euro arrival in Turin in August, 2018, revealed his admiration for the ex-Real Madrid star’s meticulous training regime and thirst for continuous improvement.

“Everything he does, he does carefully and tailored to his daily goals. You will never see him do anything on a whim,” said the veteran Italian defender.

“At 34, you see in him his desire to improve and you feel the need to learn something from him. He’s like a hyena on the pitch. The only thing you have to do is make him feel comfortable.”

The Italian international went on to explain how the club’s record signing has “a great desire to demonstrate what he is worth and stated that "his interests are our interests, because he is a born winner”.

Higuaín on Ronaldo

Chiellini’s Ronaldo comments follow those made last month by Juve striker Gonzalo Higuaín, in which he explained that he had found the Portuguese star to be a more mature person than he had been when the pair worked together at Real Madrid.

Asked during an interview on Fox News about his reunion with Ronaldo, the former Madrid forward said: “Many years have passed since I played with him in Spain. Now I have found a different player, a more mature person, with a family. I’m happy to play with him again."

The two Juve strikers are currently preparing for the Old Lady’s meeting with Lecce in Serie A on Saturday, while Chiellini continues his recovery from a ruptured ACL that will see him side-lined until March.
